Cat Owners Be Careful – Two Cats Shot By Air Rifle in Dublin

We would urge all our pet owners not just cat owner to be vigilant as two cats were shot by an air rifle in the Clonkeen Park Area of Dublin. Two cats were brought to our Foxrock Hospital on separate days The Gardai in Cabinteely have been informed and they are investigating. We would advise pet owners in the area to keep their cats and unaccompanied dogs indoors for the next while. Thanks to everyone who has helped spread the work online through our Facebook Page.

Unfortunately one cat is seriously injured. Due to patient confidentiality and an ongoing Garda investigation we cannot comment any further than that. However, we can give you an update on one of the cats….

Carlos one of the two cats shot last week returned to Ark Vet Care today.

He was shot through the chest last week in Cabinteely. Tom our vet surgically removed the air rifle pellet from his chest this morning under general anaesthetic.

He is currently doing well.

Gardaí are taking the issue very seriously  and are continuing to investigate as to who may be responsible for  for injuring these poor cats. They have taken the pellet as evidence.

If anyone has any information we would ask you to please contact your local Garda station.
