Paul McCarthy


A native of Blackrock, Paul has been a partner in the practice since 2009. After graduating UCD in 2000, he spent three years in a dedicated small animal hospital in London before joining our team. Paul introduced ultrasonography and chemotherapy to all three Ark Vetcare Hospitals.

Living locally in Glenageary, you may well bump into him walking his Springer Spaniel Kia on Killiney Hill. Paul has a keen interest in practice development and regularly visits the UK and Australia to share ideas with other practice owners and ensure Ark Vetcare is delivering the very best in pet care.

Lisa Henley

Lisa Henley

Lisa is originally from Templeogue. She graduated with honours from UCD in 2007; following 18 months working in a progressive mixed animal practice in Co Antrim, she joined Ark Vetcare in 2009 to further develop her strong interest in small animal medicine -especially feline medicine.

Lisa lives with her Yorkshire Terrier Charlie, and her cat Fred. She enjoys meeting clients and their pets and the relationships that develops with them. She has a keen interest in working up difficult and interesting medical cases and undertook a graduate certificate in small animal medicine in UCD to further her knowledge in this area.

In her spare time, Lisa is a keen runner and has completed many half marathons and the Dublin marathon.

Aoife McCarthy, BSc MVB MRCVS

(Honours degree in Zoology 2008, Veterinary Medicine 2013, both from UCD)

Aoife is from Sandymount and graduated from UCD in 2013. She also holds a degree in Zoology.

She spent time as a student with us in Arkvet and so we were delighted when she joined the team in June 2016. After qualifying Aoife spent 3 years in a dedicated small animal hospital in the UK. She has a keen interest in surgery and dentistry.

In her spare time she enjoys rock climbing, singing, cooking, socialising with friends and walking her dogs.

Claire Walsh


Claire is from Sandyford and qualified from UCD in 2015. She spent 15 months working in the UK before returning to Dublin to join our team in September 2016. Claire enjoys all aspects of veterinary work but has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery and diagnostic imaging.

In her spare time she likes hill walking and cycling.

Nick Stokes BA DVM

Nick Stokes


Nick is originally from Foxrock. Upon finishing his studies Nick worked in Ireland before moving to the UK where he worked for the UK’s leading veterinary charity. He followed this by working for a none profit clinic and shelter in Fiji before moving home via a short stint back in the UK.
Nick enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has an additional interest in soft tissue surgery.
In his spare time he likes travelling, diving and football.

Katie Walsh


Katie graduated from UCD in 2020. She spent a lot of time at Ark Vetcare as a student and was very keen to join the team once she graduated. She loves to travel and has spent time as student in veterinary clinics in the US as well as volunteering at a clinic in Thailand.
In her spare time she enjoys boxing and hiking with her four dogs.

Enda Cawley Arkvet

Enda Cawley


Enda is originally from Glenageary. After first gaining a degree a degree in biomechanical engineering, Enda then studied veterinary medicine and graduated in 2015. Prior to moving to Arkvet Enda worked in a number of busy small animal practices in London. Enda enjoys all aspects of veterinary, especially internal medicine and imaging. In his spare time Enda enjoys jogging, going to concerts and watching his beloved Leinster.
